OVERHEARD ...from the Senate

"The Senate has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the chairman of the Presidential Action Committee on Anti-Corruption (PACAC), Professor Itse Sagay, saying that he must as a matter of urgency, be stopped from further creating needless tension in the relationship between the executive and the legislature...the Senate accused Sagay of always using every opportunity he has to make public speeches to disparage the Federal Legislature by using uncouth and unprintable words to describe the legislators and the institution they represent." - Vanguard September 7, 2017

AND I AM LIKE: 100% in support of this call. For a man of his age and supposed accomplishments as a constitutional lawyer, his zealotry to bootlick and eagerness to do a hatchet job for the Presidency even when not called upon to do so, is extremely disappointing.

OVERHEARD ...from Lai Mohammed

ON WHY FG CALLED OFF WEEKLY FEC MEETING

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said in a statement that the meeting was called off due to the inability of the government to prepare for the weekly meeting.

In a statement issued in Kano on Tuesday, the Minister said the two-day public holidays declared for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations left little or no time to prepare for the weekly meeting. - Punch September 5, 2017
